• Samsung Biologics to Open First U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Rockville (wfmd.com) — Samsung Biologics is buying GSK’s Rockville manufacturing campus for $280 million, keeping more than 500 local jobs and planning additional hiring as it expands biologic drug production. State leaders say the move cements Rockville’s role in Maryland’s growing life sciences hub and could create new opportunities for local suppliers and workers in the region.
   

• Montgomery County man faces extradition for allegedly kidnapping 13-year-old Kentucky girl (wusa9.com) — A Montgomery County man is being held without bond after appearing in Rockville District Court, where a judge ordered him jailed while Kentucky seeks his extradition in connection with an alleged kidnapping of a 13-year-old girl. Authorities say he was arrested in Silver Spring, and prosecutors describe the case as custodial interference involving a child found in the home.
