ROCKVILLE, MD — A woman crossing Veirs Mill Road at Atlantic Avenue near the Twinbrook Shopping Center in Rockville died after she was struck by two vehicles Tuesday night, according to media reports.

Rockville City Police and Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded to the accident about 6:50 p.m. Authorities said the woman was crossing Veirs Mill Road when she was hit by two eastbound vehicles. WTOP reported the victim was declared dead at the scene.

Police said a third vehicle in the area where the woman was hit was “possibly involved in the collision,” NBC Washington reported. The drivers of the other two vehicles stayed at the accident scene.

Anyone with information about the fatal crash is asked to call detectives at 240-773-6620.

The Action Committee for Transit, a group focused on pedestrian and cyclist safety in Montgomery County, posted on X that 12 people have been killed on the stretch of road since 2015, NBC Washington reported.
