Buckyball is an aluminum sculpture by LA-based artist Pontus Willfors, representing a Buckminsterfullerene, a C60 fullerene molecule. The combination of pentagons and hexagons forms an elegant shape that is as close to circular as possible using only 32 flat panels. Referentially rich and playful, Buckyball alludes to one of the major scientific discoveries from the past few decades as well as the familiarity of a soccer ball-like form.

Plank #21 is a large-format tree composition by LA-based artist Pontus Willfors, carved by hand from North American hardwood planks. In an unexpected material reversal, the planks are visually “restored” to the organic origins of the tree. The symbol of the tree remains an undeniably powerful emblem of growth, strength, and history, all themes that speak to the lives of the community’s residents.

Among other world-class amenities, the meditative labyrinth walk in The Seneca’s tranquil serenity garden offers residents a moving form of meditation. Walking a labyrinth can help unwind certain thoughts, feelings, or stressors. Start by walking to the center of the circuit (there’s only one way), pause in the middle by the water feature for a moment of contemplation, and exit by following the same path.

A school of fish “swim” through The Seneca’s tranquil serenity garden. Many animals are represented in the garden, which boasts a variety of whimsical sculptural elements to engage and entertain.

Birdhouses adorn the serenity garden courtyard. The Seneca is a pet-friendly community; residents are welcome to bring their animal companions when they move in.

Each floor has a definitive color theme as well as different artwork schemes for wayfinding.
