  The agenda includes the fifth work session on the draft plan for Rockville Pike redevelopment and a discussion of PlanMaryland and the city’s response to the plan.
  PlanMaryland is an initiative of the Maryland Department of Planning to develop a statewide plan for sustainable land use. The PlanMaryland Citizen Input Map gives residents an interactive tool for weighing-in on the plan. Citizens can use the map to place markers and provide feedback about the places where they live, work and play.
• Speaking of planning, plans for a redevelopment project near the Twinbrook Metro station took a hit on Monday. The Washington Post reported that the U.S. General Accountability Office upheld a protest by developers opposing a decision by the U.S. General Services Administration to award .
• The State Highway Administration begins work tomorrow on the Redland Middle School Trail project in Derwood. Be on the lookout for flaggers and expect “intermittent, infrequent lane closures” if you’re traveling Muncaster Mill Road between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  The hiker-biker trail, which is being built in conjunction with construction of the Intercounty Connector, will run along Muncaster Mill Road between Olde Mill Run Applewood Lane.
• Smoking in apartments and at playgrounds and an update on bed bugs highlight the agenda for the Montgomery County Council’s Health and Human Services Committee meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the.
