Ivian Clinton, 24, of no fixed address, and Denzell Parker, 18, of 357 North Van Buren St. in Rockville, were arrested and charged with strong-arm robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and theft, according to a news release from the City of Rockville.
Rockville City Police Officer Chad Bates was investigating an unrelated call on Dawson Avenue when he saw the deliveryman running after someone, police said. Bates gave chase and, upon catching up to the man, learned that he had been robbed of two pizzas, police said. Bates was given a description of a suspect.
A Rockville City Police K9 unit was called in and established a track. Police established a perimeter in the 300 block of North Van Buren Street and were able to identify a residence where the suspect might be hiding.
The homeowner escorted police inside the home. There they found Parker and Clinton, along with clothing used during the robbery and two warm pizzas that the deliveryman said were the ones he was delivering to 201 Dawson Avenue, the release said.
Parker and Clinton were taken into custody and admitted their involvement during an interview with police, police said.
Parker is being held without bond, the release said. Clinton is being held on $35,000 bond, the release said.
Both men are schedule to appear in Montgomery County District Court in Rockville at 10 a.m. on March 30 for a preliminary hearing.
Anyone with information about this incident or the individuals involved is asked to call the Rockville City Police Criminal Investigations Unit at 240-314-8938.
