Police Search for Suspect in Town Center Bank Robbery

Wednesday morning robbery targeted M&T Bank at Courthouse Square.

County police and the FBI are investigating a bank robbery Wednesday morning in Rockville Town Center.

At about 10:10 a.m., officers from Rockville and Montgomery County responded to a report of a robbery at the , according to a county police news release.

A preliminary investigation found that “the suspect entered the bank and immediately vaulted the teller counter,” the release said. “The suspect announced the robbery and ordered the tellers to open the teller drawers.”

He took an undisclosed amount of cash from the drawers, “vaulted the teller counter and fled on foot,” the release said.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 6-feet-tall, with a heavy build. He was wearing a baseball cap, gloves, and what appeared to be a Washington Redskins jacket.

He wore a stocking over his face. A photo of the suspect, taken by a bank surveillance camera, appears above.
