ROCKVILLE, MD — Most city facilities in Rockville will close early Monday due to inclement weather, officials said.

City of Rockville facilities, with the exception of City Hall, will close at 3 p.m. City Hall will remain open until 5 p.m., officials said. The Mayor and Council meeting scheduled for Monday night has been canceled and rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 22.

The forecast is calling for freezing rain or rain that freezes once it hits the ground. Temperatures will be around freezing, so roads could ice over, according to officials.

A glaze of ice is possible on roads, sidewalks and bridges, according to weather officials. Periods of freezing rain are expected to cause travel difficulties.
