ROCKVILLE, MD — Julie R. Kilmer of Rockville was one of the 11 members of The University of Scranton's class of 2023 who were commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army, according to Merit News.

An Army ROTC graduate, Kilmer earned a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice.

The commissioning ceremony took place May 20 in the Kane Forum of Leahy Hall on the school's Scranton, Pennsylvania campus.
