Montgomery County Student Brought Gun To Campus, Police Say
The Silver Spring teen is being charged as an adult following the Friday incident, according to Montgomery County police.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A 17-year-old boy is facing charges after police said he brought a gun to school and then got into a fight with another student.
Isaiah Gaunt, 17, of Silver Spring, was charged with possessing a firearm without a serial number, possession of a firearm by a minor and other counts following the Friday incident, Montgomery County police said in a statement.
Patch typically does not name minors charged with crimes; however, police have charged Gaunt as an adult.

According to police, officers were called to Northwood High School, located in the 11200 block of Old Georgetown Road, shortly before 8:30 a.m. after receiving a call about a student with a gun. The initial call to police indicated that two students were involved in an altercation inside the school, and a witness reported to staff that one of the students was armed.
Responding officers searched Gaunt and found a loaded 3D-printed, privately manufactured gun in Gaunt’s waistband. He was arrested without incident.

Gaunt was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he awaits a bond hearing.
