Rockville Man Drowns in Minnesota
Attempts to revive Vishwanathan Shankar were unsuccessful, authorities said.

Authorities in suburban Minneapolis on Tuesday identified a Rockville man as the victim in a weekend pond drowning.
Vishwanathan Shankar, 38, of Rockville, accidentally drowned in a swimming pond in Maple Grove, MN, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner ruled, .
Shankar was with his family at the on Saturday evening when he began to struggle in the water, according to an initial report by the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, Maple Grove Patch reported.

A lifeguard pulled him to shore and performed CPR, which was continued by first responders to the scene, according to the report. Efforts to resuscitate Shankar were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead around 8 p.m., the report said.
