Rockville Man Fatally Stabbed By Metro Employee: Police

Police are investigating if a Metro employee acted in self-defense after she stabbed a man who allegedly broke into the station's kiosk.

(Updated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday): WASHINGTON, DC — A Metro employee stabbed and killed a Rockville man after he broke into the manager's kiosk at the Friendship Heights Metro just after midnight Tuesday, police said.

Police said the man — identified as Jeremy Bond, 28 — pounded on the windows of the manager's kiosk and broke into the booth.

Bond then got into a physical fight with the female Metro employee, who stabbed him, police said.

"The homicide branch is investigating to determine all of the facts and circumstances surrounding this death, and to determine if the Metro Employee has a viable self-defense claim," police said in a statement.

The incident occurred at about 12:21 a.m. at the station at 5337 Wisconsin Ave NW.

Bond was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Reports said the woman stabbed the man with a pocket knife because she was in fear of her life, FOX 5 reports.

The man was allegedly angry that his train was delayed.

The Western Avenue entrance to the station was closed for hours after the incident.
