Michael Charles Dalton, Jr., the driver charged in Thursday's crash that killed a motor scooter rider on Rockville Pike, posted bond and was released from the Montgomery County Detention Center on Friday, county police said in a news release.
Dalton's bond was reduced from $1 million to $15,000 during a bond hearing in Montgomery County District Court in Rockville on Friday.

His next court appearance is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 21 in District Court in Rockville.

Montgomery County Police on Thursday evening released a photo of the man charged in a fatal hit and run crash Thursday morning in Rockville.
Michael Charles Dalton, Jr. is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center in lieu of a $1 million bond, according to an updated police report. The updated report adds the "Jr." to Dalton's name and corrects his address, which police had listed as being in Pennsylvania. Dalton listed his address in court documents as the 10200 block of Baltimore Ave., in College Park.
A bond review hearing for the 22-year-old is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday in Montgomery County District Court, at 191 East Jefferson St., in Rockville.
Update, 12:30 p.m., Sept. 22:
Montgomery County Police identifed the man killed in a crash involving a motor scooter on Rockville Pike early Thursday morning as Roberto Nassar, 30, of the unit block of South Frederick Road in Gaithersburg.
Police said a preliminary investigation found that Nassar was on a scooter traveling northbound on Rockville Pike near Edmonston Drive when the scooter was hit from behind by a tan 1997 Buick LeSabre. Nassar was ejected from the scooter. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
Police spotted the Buick at 1:26 a.m. on Rockville Pike near Veirs Mill Road with the scooter attached to the front of the car, according to a county police news release. Officers from the county police's 1st District and Rockville City Police stopped the Buick near Rockville Pike and Richard Montgomery Drive.
The driver of the Buick, Michael Charles Dalton, 22, of the 100 block of Gentry Drive, in Perkasie, Pa., was arrested, according to the release. Dalton is charged with:
- Failure to Immediately Stop Vehicle at Scene of Accident Involving Death.
- Failure to Immediately Return and Remain at Scene of Accident Involving Death.
- Failure of Vehicle Driver in Accident to Report Death to Nearest Police.
Dalton is being held in the Montgomery County Detention Center.

Rockville Pike was closed for the investigation for a portion of Thursday morning's rush hour. The road reopened by 7:45 a.m.
