Rockville Robbery Suspect Wanted For Attempted Murder: Police

ROCKVILLE, MD — A Hyattsville man charged in a Rockville robbery was later found to be wanted in Prince George's County for several charges, including attempted murder, authorities said.

On June 12, the Rockville City Police Department responded to the area of East Montgomery Avenue and Monroe Street for a report of a robbery. The female victim was assaulted and some of her property had been taken by force. Patrol officers located a juvenile suspect, who was charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and theft.

An additional suspect remained at large.

On July 5, Rockville police detectives saw what they believed was a robbery taking place in the area of East Montgomery Avenue and Monroe Street. Detectives recognized one of the suspects as the outstanding suspect from the June 12 robbery.

Tajaun Curtis Grier, 20, of Hyattsville, was arrested and has been charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and theft in connection to the June 12th case.

Investigators learned Grier was wanted by the Prince George's County Police Department for attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and handgun violations.

Grier was taken to the central processing unit, where he is awaiting a bail hearing.
