Rockville Youth Football Team Claims State Championship

The Rockville Football League's Steelers defeated the Perry Hall Gators, 20-12, to claim the title.

The Rockville Football League Steelers recently won the Pony Division 4 Maryland Youth Football State Championship.

The team of 21 mostly 9-year-old boys from Rockville and Potomac was coached by Dave Humiston. The Steelers finished with an 11-2 record. They defeated the Rockville Raiders in the Pony division Super Bowl championship game at Bullis High School in late November and went on to claim the state championship with a 20-12 victory over the Perry Hall Gators in Havre de Grace on Dec. 11.
