Rockville's Crime Summary Report For June 12-18: MCPD

The Montgomery County Police department released its weekly crime summary for June 12-18. Vehicle thefts mostly make up the report.

ROCKVILLE, MD — The Montgomery County Police department released its weekly crime summary report for June 12-18.

Many of the calls police responded to were for vehicle thefts, according to police.

"Don’t make it easy for car thieves. Take your keys and valuables with you and remember to lock your doors when leaving your vehicle unattended," police said.

Here are some of the calls police responded to recently in Rockville:

  • Four thefts from vehicles occurred between approximately 7 p.m. on June 17 and 1:15 p.m. on June 19. Affected streets included: Decker Place, Briardale Road and Bethayres Road. No force; money and property were taken.
  • A theft from vehicle occurred in the 8800 block of Sleepy Hollow Lane at approximately 9:30 p.m. on June 15 and 5:30 a.m. on June 16. Force; money was taken.
  • In the 12300 block of Carroll Avenue between approximately 9:30 p.m. on June 15 and 6 a.m. on June 16. No force; the vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked with a key fob left inside. The vehicle was recovered on June 17.
  • A vehicle theft occurred in the 16100 block of Deer Lake Road between approximately 11:30 p.m. on June 15 and 9:05 a.m. on June 17. Unknown entry.
  • A vehicle theft occurred in the 8400 block of Fox Run between approximately 1:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. on June 15. Unknown entry. The vehicle was recovered on June 18.
  • An attempted theft occurred at the pharmacy inside Harris Teeter located in the 12500 block of Park Potomac Avenue at approximately 5:58 p.m. on June 16. The suspect attempted to take pharmaceuticals.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 14600 block of Cervantes Avenue between approximately 3:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on June 18. No signs of forced entry; nothing was taken.
