“Our new concept store will be unlike anything in the DC-area,” said Justin Baer, founder and CEO of Collars & Co., in a news release. “It’s more than a store — it’s a destination where customers step into a world of refined style, elevated performance, and the unmistakable spirit of Collars & Co.”
The company's website says of its origins: "Collars & Co. and the Dress Collar Polo™ was created because we hated wearing dress shirts under our sweaters and jackets everyday to work in NYC. It was always uncomfortable, hot, a pain to get on and then after wearing them, we would have to have our expensive dress shirts dry cleaned.
"There had to be a more comfortable way to achieve this look since all we really cared about was the collar. We set out on a one year journey to find a factory, the perfect fabric and a designer that could create the perfect buttery soft polo with a standard English spread collar."
