Silver Branch Brewing Begins Renovations To Rockville Site

A Rockville-area location of Silver Branch Brewing Company is being renovated, with an opening date not yet set, according to social media.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Renovations have begun at the Rockville-area location of Silver Branch Brewing Company, the company said, with no mention of an unexpected opening date.

Silver Branch said on social media that renovations at the new Rockville Beerworks location have begun and directed beer enthusiasts to follow their @silverbranchrockville Instagram account for an opening date.

The goal is to open the Rockville site in March or April 2025, but obtaining necessary permits and construction could push the opening back to the summer of 2025, MOCO360 previously reported.

The brewery's newest location will be in the former True Respite Brewing Company site, 7301 Calhoun Place in Derwood, which closed last year, according to Source of the Spring.

The brewery opened at 8401 Colesville Road in downtown Silver Spring in March 2019 and in 2023 at 56 E. Lee St. in Warrenton, Virginia.

“We’ve been brewing in Silver Spring since we opened and it’s just gotten to be that space is too small for the amount of beer that we are trying to brew now,” co-founder Christian Layke told MOCO360 in November.

He told the website the former True Respite Brewing Co. site is “better designed and situated” for beer production.

Rockville Beerworks will have a taproom and an outdoor dining section when it opens, Layke said.
