ROCKVILLE, MD — A Maryland State Trooper is recovering in the hospital after being struck by a car while conducting a traffic stop in Rockville early Wednesday morning.
Brian DeHaven was outside of his patrol vehicle — which had its emergency lights on, Maryland Police said — on the left shoulder of I-270 south at Exit 6, Route 28/West Montgomery Avenue in Rockville when he was hit. He had stopped a 2019 Kia and was in between the jersey wall and the driver’s side of the Kia when a Toyota Venza swerved and hit both cars and the officer, according to Maryland Police.
