Suspect Sought In Assault At Rockville 7-Eleven

Police said the assault happened on May 7 at a store located in the 11500 block of Rockville Pike.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County police are searching for a man who they say assaulted an employee at a Rockville 7-Eleven last month.

According to authorities, the assault happened around 7:30 p.m. on May 7 at the store located in the 11500 block of Rockville Pike. Police said the suspect entered the store, approached the soda fountain, and began filling a cup and drinking the soda.

When an employee informed the suspect that the soda was not free, the suspect struck the employee, according to police. He then threw items from store shelves at the employees before leaving the store, authorities said.

According to police, the suspect tried to re-enter the store, but employees held the door closed. Police said the suspect then pulled out a gun and threatened the employees before leaving in the direction of the White Flint Metro Station.

Police described the suspect as a Black male, approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall, with long dreadlocks and a beard. He was last seen wearing black pants, a green shirt, a gray jacket and a black Washington Commanders sweatshirt. He was carrying a pink shoulder bag and a black backpack.
