Vehicle Fire On 14th St. Bridge; Delays On I-495: Traffic In MD, DC

On The Road

Phase 2 wind warnings are in effect on US-50 in both directions on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, according to MDOT. Those operating house trailers, box trailers, motorcycles, vehicles with roof-mount racks containing cargo or any other vehicle that may be subject to high winds are advised to travel with caution over the bridge. As of 6:45 a.m., Beall Avenue between Upton Street and North Van Buren Street are closed in both directions due to police activity, according to the Rockville Police Department. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route. [Rockville, MD]

As of 7:36 a.m., the center lane of northbound MD-650/New Hampshire Avenue before Adelphi Road is blocked due to a crash, according to WTOP Traffic. [Adelphi, MD].

As of 7:35 a.m., police activity was reported on southbound I-270 near Shady Grove Road, according to WTOP Traffic. [Gaithersburg, MD]

As of 7:28 a.m., a vehicle fire is affecting traffic in both directions on I-395 near the 14th Street Bridge, according to WTOP Traffic. [Washington, DC]

As of 7:23 a.m., a crash was reported on the local lanes of the Inner Loop of the Capital Beltway/ I-495/Beltway at MD-210, according to WTOP Traffic. [Oxon Hill, MD]

As of 7:18 a.m., a collision was reported on US-50 West at the exit for westbound Bay Dale Drive, according to MDOT. [Annapolis, MD]

As of 7:15 a.m., a crash was reported on the Inner Loop of the Capital Beltway/I-495 near MD-650/New Hampshire Avenue, according to WTOP Traffic. [Adelphi, MD]

As of 7:14 a.m., the two right lanes of the Outer Loop of the Capital Beltway/I-495 prior to the exit for MD-97/Georgia Avenue are blocked due to a crash, according to MDOT. [Silver Spring, MD]

As of 7:13 a.m., debris was reported in the roadway of I-95 South past the exit for southbound MD-150/Eastern Avenue, according to MDOT. [Baltimore, MD]

As of 7:14 a.m., a crash was reported on southbound US-301 before MD-214/Central Avenue, according to WTOP Traffic. [Woodmore, MD]

As of 7:01 a.m., the left shoulder of the Outer Loop of the Capital Beltway/I-95 is closed from Forestville Road to Pennsylvania Avenue, according to MDOT. [Morningside, MD]

As of 7 a.m., the northbound-shoulder and right off ramp on Franfurst Avenue at Childs Street are closed due to a two-vehicle collision, according to MDOT. [Brooklyn, MD]

As of 6:50 a.m., debris was reported in the roadway on the Outer Loop of the Baltimore Parkway/I-695 at the exit for Edmondson Avenue, according to MDOT. [Catonsville, MD]

As of 6:44 a.m., a crash was reported on I-95 South past the exit for southbound MD-152/Mountain Road, according to MDOT. [Clayton, MD]

As of 6:42 a.m., the left shoulder and left traffic lane of I-270 South at Tuckerman Lane are closed due to a two-vehicle collision, according to MDOT. [Bethesda, MD]

As of 6:34 a.m., the southbound-shoulder and traffic lane and the northbound-shoulder and traffic of MD-75 South past Baldwin Road are closed due to a one-vehicle collision, according to MDOT. [New Market, MD]

Ongoing Closures:

Both northbound-shoulders and traffic lanes of MD-151 North between Sparrows Point and Wharf Road are closed, according to MDOT. [Sparrows Point, MD]

Westbound-right off-ramp from MD-725 West at John Rogers Boulevard is closed due to roadwork, according to MDOT. [Upper Marlboro, MD]

The northbound-left shoulder of I-95 North is closed from Weigh Station Access Road to Cherry Hill Road, according to MDOT. [Adelphi, MD]

Eastbound shoulder, traffic lane and center turn lane of MD-648 East between Kuethe Road and Governor Ritchie Highway are closed due to a utility problem, according to MDOT. [Glen Burnie, MD]

Mass Transit

As of 7:33 a.m., expect residual delays on Metro's Red Line to Glenmont due to an earlier train malfunction at Shady Grove, according to Metro. [Shady Grove, MD]

Due to bus operator availability, the following Metrobus routes may experience delays on Tuesday, according to Metro: 3Y, 22A, 28F, 83, 86, C4, D4, D32, F6, G14, H4, J2, Q5, Q6, R12, T14, V14, and Y8. [Washington, DC]

As of 7:20 a.m., MARC Camden Line Train 844 is expected to experience a 10-20 minute departure delay Tuesday morning due to late arriving equipment, according to MDOT. [Washington, DC]

DC Weather

Skies over the Baltimore-Washington region were overcast around 7:51 a.m., on Tuesday morning, with a temperature of 48 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Rain is expected to last through the day and into the night on Tuesday.

Rain was falling around 7:52 a.m., over the Rockville area, according to the AccuWeather forecast. Rain and drizzle are expected to last throughout the day, with a high of 51 and a low of 49.
