VisAbility Art Exhibit Opens Saturday At The Seneca In Rockville
An exhibit featuring artwork created by VisAbility Art Lab artists opens with a grand opening reception at The Seneca in Rockville.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Thirty pieces of artwork created by the artists of VisArts' VisAbility Art Lab will go on display Saturday, March 25 at The Seneca senior living community in Rockville, according to a release.
The exhibit will kick off with a grand opening reception on Saturday, at 2:30 p.m., The Seneca, which is located at 55 West Gude Drive in Rockville. The exhibit is open daily to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., through Friday, April 26.
“Many of our members are passionate about art and want us to feature local artists,” said Sara Woodward, The Seneca's community life director, in a release. “Our partnership with VisArts helps us to meet that demand, and we are especially excited about this show.”

Artists in the VisAbility Art Lab not only are artists with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities, but they're also successfully pursing careers in art.
“VisAbility Art Lab is not about therapy, it’s about preparing adults with disabilities for a career in art,” program director Elaine Parks, said in a release. “Creating art is therapeutic for everybody. For our lab participants, art is their superpower.”

Sarah Dorros and Sarah Davie, two artists from the lab, recently sold their art to Amazon Prime, which will be using it to promote "As We See It," a series that follows the lives of three adults on the autism spectrum.
