What's Open, Closed In Rockville For Thanksgiving

Rockville, MD — Most Montgomery County facilities will be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving. Get all of the information you need to know here about recycling, parks, road closures and more.

Here's what's open and closed this Thanksgiving:

Rockville City government: closed Thursday and Friday

Rockville Facilities: closed Thursday

Facilities closed Nov. 25 and open for the following hours Nov. 26: Croydon Creek Nature Center (10 a.m.-2 p.m.); Lincoln Park, Thomas Farm and Twinbrook community centers (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.); and the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center (6 a.m. to 9 p.m.). Parking: free at city-owned meters on Nov. 25 and 26.

Montgomery County office buildings: closed

Montgomery County courts: closed

Montgomery County libraries: closed

Alcohol Beverage Services stores: all stores closed.

Ride On: operating on a Sunday schedule

Flash: Will operate on a weekend schedule (Orange Line only).

Ride On extra and Flex: Not in service.

TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center: Closed.

TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store: Closed.

Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters: Free

Trash and recycling: Collection will not occur on Thursday. Regular Thursday County collections be on Friday and regular Friday collections will be on Saturday.

Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station: Closed.

County recycling center: Closed.

Recreation: All programs and facilities are closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Open Parkways Schedule:

• Open to pedestrians and cyclists from 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 24, through 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 28: Sligo Creek Parkway:   Old Carroll Avenue to Piney Branch Road (1.1 miles) ;  Forest Glen Road to University Boulevard West (1.5 miles) . Beach Drive: from Connecticut Avenue to Knowles Avenue (2.7 miles) 

• Open to pedestrians and cyclists from 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 24, through 4 p.m. on Sunday, 28: Little Falls Parkway from River Road to Arlington Road (1 mile)  

Open on Thursday, Nov. 25: 

• Parks, trails, gardens, playgrounds, dog parks, skate parks, outdoor exercise stations, tennis and pickleball courts
• Brookside Gardens – gardens open sunrise to sunset. (Visitor Center, Conservatory, Gardens of Lights closed)
• Little Bennett Campground 

Closed on Thursday Nov. 25:

• Montgomery Parks’ headquarters, customer service and permit offices (also closed on Friday, Nov. 26) 
• Brookside Gardens’ visitor center, conservatory
• Gardens of Lights at Brookside Gardens
• Josiah Henson Museum (grounds open sunrise to sunset)
• Woodlawn Manor visitor center and museum (grounds open sunrise to sunset)
