Woman Killed Walking Dog When SUV Goes Off Road: Police
A woman walking her dog in Derwood died when an SUV went off the road and struck the victim on a sidewalk, Montgomery County police said.
DERWOOD, MD — A woman walking her dog in Derwood died Monday when an SUV went off the road and struck the victim on a sidewalk, Montgomery County police said.
The accident happened about 11:39 a.m. at the intersection of Muncaster Mill Road and Applewood Lane, a police news release said.
The victim — Debra Voith, 69, of Derwood — was hit by a car while walking along the sidewalk of Muncaster Mill Road. Voith was hit by the driver of a brown 2017 Buick Envision, which crossed over the eastbound lanes of traffic and went off the road, police said.

The adult driver of the Buick remained on scene. Police have not released the driver's name and no charges have been filed.
The dog was not injured.
