2 Dead After Car Hits Utility Pole In Silver Spring
Two Silver Spring men died when a car struck a utility pole on University Boulevard West, police said.
SILVER SPRING, MD — Two people died after a car hit a utility pole on University Boulevard West in Silver Spring this weekend, police said.
Police said Silver Spring residents Leonel Osvaldo Gonzales, 24, and Hodimyr Gonzalez, 28, died on the scene at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Gonzales was driving a black 2015 Lexus RX 350 SUV and left the roadway on east University Boulevard approaching Royalton Road near the Four Corners area, police said. He then struck a utility pole.

Investigators believe that the vehicle’s speed could have contributed to the collision, police said.
