2 Men Accused Of Burglarizing Silver Spring Barber Shop

Both men are facing second-degree burglary charges and other counts, Montgomery County police said.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Two men are facing charges in connection with a burglary and theft at a Silver Spring barber shop.

Oscar Hernandez-Bonilla, 39, of Rockville, and Osmin Ernesto Martinez Diaz, 41, of Silver Spring, were both charged with second-degree burglary and theft-related counts following the July 9 burglary, Montgomery County police said in a statement.

According to police, officers were in the 11200 block of Georgia Avenue when they were flagged down for a report of a commercial burglary that occurred earlier that morning at Elite Studio and Barber on Triangle Lane.

The investigation revealed that shortly after 2 a.m., Hernandez-Bonilla and Martinez Diaz entered the business, stole property and then left the scene, according to police.

Officers immediately recognized Hernandez-Bonilla from surveillance video and located him nearby, in possession of stolen items, police said.

Police later located and arrested Martinez Diaz in the 11200 block of Georgia Avenue. He was taken to an area hospital for injuries he suffered before his arrest.

Hernandez-Bonilla and Martinez Diaz were both taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. Hernandez-Bonilla is currently being held on bond, while Martinez Diaz has been released on bond.
