21-Year-Old Man Dies In Silver Spring Motorcycle Crash: Police

A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision on Veirs Mill Road in Silver Spring, police said.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision in Silver Spring Friday, Montgomery County Police said.

The accident happened at Veirs Mill Road at Robindale Drive at about 10:46 a.m.

Investigation revealed James Christopher Davern, 21, of Silver Spring was traveling west on Veirs Mill Road in a 2012 Honda CBR 600 RR motorcycle.

Whirley Calumba Saguban, 66, of Rockville was traveling east in a 2003 Honda CRV.

Saguban attempted to make a left turn on Robindale Drive when the motorcycle and vehicle collided in the intersection.

Saguban was not injured, police said. Davern succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital Friday night.
