3-Year-Old Silver Spring Toddler Killed In Crash, 5 Others Injured
The crash remains under investigation, according to Montgomery County police.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A 3-year-old toddler from Silver Spring has succumbed to injuries sustained in a crash that occurred last week in Wheaton.
According to detectives, the crash happened Thursday morning, May 12 at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Atherton Drive.
Police said the driver of a white 1997 Ford F-150, pulling a 2015 Holmes light-duty trailer was attempting to make a left turn from eastbound Atherton Drive onto northbound Connecticut Avenue.

The driver of a white 2015 Kia Optima was traveling and continuing south on Connecticut Avenue. The two vehicles collided in the intersection, police said.
Officers said they located six patients with injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening. Four of those patients were passengers of the Kia. Two additional patients were passengers of the Ford.

Police said a child, a passenger in the Kia, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital where she died Wednesday as a result of her injuries.
The toddler has been identified as 3-year-old Dreamie Dior Jackson from Silver Spring.
It was not immediately clear if charges have been filed in the fatal crash.
