5 Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 22, 2011

Good morning, Silver Spring! Here are five things to know this Thursday to help you keep up-to-date about what’s going on in the community:

1. Expect a cloudy day with temperatures reaching a high of 60 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Later on tonight, showers are expected with temperatures in the low 40s.

2. Looking to make an impact in your commmunity? The Silver Spring Citizens Advisory Board has a vacancy. The Board serves as a liaison between the Silver Spring communities and the county government by identifying neighborhood and business concerns and making recommendations to county officials. The deadline to apply is Jan. 11, 2012.

3. Celebrate Hannukah at Travilah Square Shopping Center located at 10066 Darnestown Rd. in Rockville. The celebration will end with the Menorah Fire Truck parade.
