Good morning, Silver Spring! Here are five things to know this Monday to help you keep up-to-date about what’s going on in the community:
1. According to the National Weather Service, the temperatures should stay around the 60's throughout the day. Tonight, there is a possibility of rain throughout the night, with cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 50's.

3. A fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Piney Branch Road on Friday. Donald Warren Burch was transported to the Washington Hospital Center with life-threatening injuries.
4. Enjoy an evening of community social action that focuses on the crisis that many immigrants face in their search for higher education the Silver Spring Civic Center. The reception begins at 6:30 p.m. It will include food, screen printing, and information on how you can make a difference and help these students. The film The Rights of Butterflies will be shown at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a community discussion.
