5 Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 22, 2011

Good morning, Silver Spring! Here are five things to know this Thursday, to help you keep up-to-date about what’s going on in the community:

1. Rain is in the forecast today with temperatures reaching a high near 60, according to the National Weather Service. Later on tonight, the showers should continue with temperatures dropping near 50.

2. If you missed it, there are many places that you give back. Here are organizations that are need this holiday season countywide.

3. As Small Business Saturday (SBS) approaches, County Council President Valerie Ervin (D-Dist. 5) is encouraging residents to support local establishes. Ervin said she knows how important Black Friday is for large retailers, but small businesses should be promoted too.

4. Tonight is the last evening for Round House Theater's "Sportsaculture: The All Stars" and the American Film Institute's (AFI) European Union Film Festival.
