79-Year-Old Dies From Injuries In Silver Spring Crash: Police
Police are still investigating a two-vehicle crash on Colesville Road in Silver Spring. A passenger in one of the vehicles died Sunday.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County police are continuing to investigate a fatal two-vehicle crash on Colesville Road in Silver Spring, the police department said Monday.
On Sunday, a passenger in one of the vehicles, Thambiraj Nathaniel, 79, of Beltsville died from their injuries in the hospital.
Shortly after 1 p.m. last Tuesday, police officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the area of Colesville Road and Timberwood Avenue for the report of a two-vehicle collision.

The investigation determined that the driver of a gray 2016 Subaru Forester was attempting to make a left turn from southbound Colesville Road to Timberwood Avenue, when it was struck by a silver 2017 Nissan Rouge traveling northbound on Colesville Road.
The driver of the Subaru and both passengers of the Nissan were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Nathaniel also was taken to the hospital, with life-threatening injuries.
