8407 Kitchen Bar Hunting for New Top Chef

If the lamb Bolognese at 8407 Kitchen Bar doesn't taste quite the same these days, it's because the restaurant has gotten rid of its executive chef, Bethesda magazine reports. 

Pedro Matamoros rose to prominance in the region while working for Tabard Inn in the District before owning Nicaro restaurant in Silver Spring. At 8407, his speciality was the lamb and a house-made charcuterie, the magazine reports. 

Matamoros told Bethesda that he was fired earlier this month by the restaurant's owner Theo Margas, who said the chef was difficult to work with, according to Matamoros.

8407's menu will remain the same until a new top chef arrives.
