Vladimir DeRose, freshman at Montgomery Blair High School, and other students from both Montgomery and Howard Counties built complex contraptions in a class called "The Incredible Useless Machine" at <a href="http://splashumbc.learningu.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) Splash</a> on Saturday, April 9.

Splash is a one-day program in which students from University of Maryland Baltimore County taught high school students classes ranging from chemistry to car maintenance.
