Crash On Connecticut Avenue Seriously Injures One Child, Police Say
Six people were taken to the hospital after their cars collided at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Atherton Drive.

SILVER SPRING, MD — One child was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and five more people were taken with non-life-threatening injuries after a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning, said Montgomery County Police in a news release.
A Ford F150 pulling a light duty trailer tried to make a left turn from eastbound Atherton Drive to northbound Connecticut Avenue while the Kia Optima was headed south, and the two cars crashed. The collision happened around 7:35 a.m., authorities said.
There were two adults in the Ford who were taken to the hospital. There was an adult and three children in the Kia, police said. One child had life-threatening injuries — the driver and two other passengers had non-life-threatening injuries.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating and detectives are asking anyone with information to call 240-773-6620.
