
Thanksgiving is less the week away and the family is book to head into town. This weekend there will be a lot of events you can be a part of that will get you get into the festive mood the holidays. Here is a list of my top events to participate in:
1. The Thanksgiving Parade will be plenty of fun for the family and friends as Santa and his helpers visit early form the North Pole. This year the route is reverse check out the Patch preview to be prepared.
2. Anger can be difficult to deal with sometimes but you can learn to manage it better. The Parent Encouragement Program is a non-profit that specializes in guiding parents so they can build stronger relationships with your children and other adults.

3. Duke Ellington School of the arts students perform Messiah at Mt. Jezreel Baptist Church, Friday November 19. This performance by George Frederic Hendel will feature a symphonic choir and orcherstra. The church is located on 420 University Blvd. E , Silver Spring, MD 20901. Donations will be accepted.
4. Enjoy artwork from Uganda at an exhibit of photographs from 1953-1954 of the Dodos. Its an enigmatic culture of people who lived there. The exhibit is free open to the public at the Riderwood Village Square Crafts Studio, 3140 Gracefield Road, Silver Spring, MD. The exhibit will run through November and can be seen weekdays from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

5. Living Ruff is offering a training for dog-owners who have issues with their pets destroying their stuff toys. On Sunday, November 21 trainer Hedda Garland will hold a workshop to address a dog's needs to bite, chase, sniff, listen and more. They won't aloud pets. The hour-long human only event starts at 9:30 a.m.
