Family Of Critically Injured Man Sought By MoCo Police

SILVER SPRING, MD — Investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating the family of Juan Ixpata-Vasquez, 56, who was critically injured on Dec. 31.

About 6:11 p.m., police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel were called to University Boulevard at East Franklin Avenue, where a pedestrian was struck by at least one vehicle. Responders found Ixpata-Vasquez suffering from life-threatening injuries.

A police news release said he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Detectives have been unable to locate any next of kin or family members of Ixpata-Vasquez, who is believed to live in the Silver Spring or Hyattsville area.
