Flu, Strep Throat Testing Now Available At 2 MoCo Giant Pharmacies

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Patients 3-years of age and older can now be tested for the flu A and B strains, as well as strep throat at 14 Giant Pharmacy locations around the Washington, D.C. metro region, including two Giant Pharmacies in Montgomery County, according to a release.

Giant's flu and strep throat testing joins the other medical services already provided at these 14 locations, including COVID-19 antibody testing and immunizations, including updated COVID-19 (bivalent) boosters.

Flu testing costs $39.99 and strep throat testing is $29.99. Giant encourages patients to contact their plan provider for more information about whether these fees are FSA/HSA eligible.

Patients must book their testing appointments ahead of time online. Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Flu and strep throat testing are now available at the following Giant Pharmacies in Montgomery County:

Giant's certified in-store pharmacists or certified technicians will administer the tests, which provide results within 10 minutes, according to the release.

Patients can receive a medical consultation and obtain necessary prescriptions using Giant Pharmacy's tele-health visit with a healthcare provider through Physician 360. A $29.95 fee is payable to Physician 360 using the discount code "GIANT."
