Long Branch Community Center Reopening After Serving As A Shelter
The Long Branch center is reopening as a rec and senior space. It served as a shelter when the pandemic began.

SILVER SPRING, MD — The Long Branch Community Recreation and Senior Center is reopening in its original capacity after serving as a shelter for much of the pandemic, Montgomery County said in a news release.
There will be sports clinics, cooking classes, fitness, martial arts and futsal for all ages, along with a special week of senior activities that include fitness and wellness classes like yoga, pickleball, table tennis, and Tai chi in June.
The center reopened Monday and will have a grand opening Saturday with dancing, music, food, inflatables, face painting and games.

The Rec Center will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the Senior Center will have regular hours of Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
