Majic 102.3 Cortney Hicks to Host Blues Festival
Hicks is one of three hosts this year.

The in downtown is quickly approaching and this year many of your favorite local restaurants are joining in this year's festivities.
On June, 8 at , a local nonprofit, organizers will kick off their first Silver Spring Blues Week with a three-hour program which will include food, drinks and live music by Silver Spring's Jonny Grave.

The week-long event, from June 8 to June 15, will be hosted by various restaurants throughout downtown and attendees can expect to enjoy blues performances including specials on food and drinks. Some of the venues include: Fire Station 1, Eggspectations, Zev’s, McGinty’s, and the Big Greek Cafe.

Celebrity emcees Radio One's Majic 102.3 Cortney Hicks and Ida Campbell of WPFW-FM will help keep the groove going on two stages this year during the Silver Spring Blues Festival on Saturday, June 16 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The first stage is the Fountain Stage on Ellsworth Drive, and the Market Stage on Veterans Plaza at the Fenton Street Market.
Performances on the Market Stage go from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Performances on this stage will include Archie Edwards Blues Ensemble, Sheryl Sears Trio, Cooking with Gas, Gina DeSimone & the Moaners and Swampcandy.
On the Fountain Stage, acoustic and electric blues performances from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Performances on this stage include School of Rock, Nate Foley & FLLD, the Moonshine Society, Fast Eddie & the Slowpokes, The Unruly Blues Band, the DC Blues Society Band featuring Ayaba Bey, and, for the finale, Clarence “The Blues Man” Turner.
