Man Charged In December Fatal Stabbing In Silver Spring
Police charged the man in connection with the death of 49-year-old Mynor Rene Lara Salguero.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Authorities have charged a man in a fatal stabbing that occurred in December in Silver Spring.
Bulfrano Martinez-Maldonado, 38, was charged with first-degree murder on Wednesday in connection with the stabbing that occurred Dec. 16 in the 8000 block of Blair Mill Road.
According to Montgomery County police, officers responded to that location after receiving a call about a person down. When officers arrived, they found 49-year-old Mynor Rene Lara Salguero suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lara Salguero’s body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy was conducted. His death was ruled a homicide.
During the investigation, police said detectives determined that Martinez-Maldonado was with the victim shortly before his death.

Police arrested Martinez-Maldonado on an outstanding warrant in January 2025 in Washington, D.C. Following his arrest, authorities obtained a DNA sample and connected it to Lara Salguero’s homicide.
Martinez-Maldonado is currently being held at a detention center in Arizona, awaiting extradition to Montgomery County.
