Man With Gun Arrested In Downtown Silver Spring Dec. 4

Cedric Billy Coleman, 33, had a warrant out for his arrest in Prince George's County for possession a gun with a felony conviction.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A man who had an outstanding warrant in Prince George's County was arrested in Downtown Silver Spring on Dec. 4.

Montgomery County Police say that officers were patrolling when they saw an unoccupied gold Chevy Caprice parked on King Street that was reported as stolen. Police say they saw Cedric Billy Coleman, 33 of Washington D.C., get into the car at 2:07 p.m.

When cops started to approach, Coleman attempted to drive away, according to an MCP news release. Police arrested Coleman and found that he was carrying a loaded .45 caliber Sig Sauer P220 handgun, according to the release.

Coleman has a warrant out for his arrest in Prince George's County on the charge of firearm possession with a felony conviction and is not allowed to own a gun, police said.

He is being held at the Central Processing Unit without bond.
