MCPS Bomb Threat Is Not Credible, District Says
Hundreds of Montgomery County Public Schools students and staff received a bomb threat via email Sunday night, according to officials.
SILVER SPRING, MD — A bomb threat emailed to Montgomery County Public Schools students and staff Sunday night is not credible, the district said.
"Overnight, an email containing a bomb threat was sent to a large number of MCPS staff and students," the district wrote in a letter to the community. "Montgomery County Police were immediately informed of the matter. The police continue in their investigation, but have determined this to be a non-credible threat."
It is unclear how many people received the email. But Gboyinde Onijala, a spokesperson for MCPS, told Patch that it was "definitely in the hundreds."
