UPDATE: Infant Found Safe In NYC, Father Taken Into Custody
Ziona Amaya, a 1-year-old reported missing in Silver Spring, was found safe in NYC. Her father, Cornelius Smith, was arrested.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A missing 1-year-old from Silver Spring was found safe in New York City, after a bystander on the subway recognized her father, Cornelius Smith. She took a photo of them, called Montgomery County Police SVID and forwarded the picture. New York City Police found Ziona Amaya and Smith, and Smith was arrested.
Ziona had originally been reported missing with her mother, Sandy Barrientos, 29 after they were last seen on Nov. 28 at their home on Plymouth Street. Police announced on Tuesday that Ziona was actually last seen later that day with her father, around 6 p.m.
Police warned that Smith may take Ziona on public transportation in the DMV, and asked the public to be on the lookout. The missing persons announcement was shared in the Black and Missing, Inc., Facebook group. The passenger on the NYC subway who called the police recognized Smith from the post in that group.
