Montgomery County Officer Charged with Helping Drug Trafficker
37-year-old Delores Culmer faces 30 years in prison, if found guilty.
A Montgomery County Police officer, Delores Culmer was arrested and charged Wednesday with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine and computer fraud.
According to Department of Justice, Culmer and her boyfriend, a suspected narcotics trafficker whose name is being held, worked together.
The investigation uncovered that Culmer allegedly used her access to police department computer databases to gain information for her boyfriend and his friends, according to court documents.

She also used her name to help purchase her current residence on Parker Avenue with $30,000 he gave her, as well as and another home in Cleveland, Ohio. One of Justice's sources believed he used the house as a safe haven from drug trafficking in the Pittsburgh area. Culmer also received expensive gifts from her boyfriend, including an engagement ring valued at $100,000.
Culmer was transported to Greenbelt to be interviewed earlier today and is expected in court for a hearing on Friday.

Montgomery County Police Chief J. Thomas Manger released a statement after the federal charges filed against Montgomery County Police Officer Delores Culmer:
“The investigation and arrest of one of our own Officers is always a difficult time for any police department. We initiated this case nearly a year ago and are grateful to the US Attorney’s Office and the Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for their guidance and assistance. This Department continues to be committed to the highest standards of integrity, and will not tolerate criminal misconduct. I am proud of the reputation that the men and women of this Department have earned over the years and none of us can allow anyone to tarnish the badge we are so honored to wear.”
