SILVER SPRING, MD — Montgomery County police have released new information about a parental abduction case involving a Silver Spring woman and her 9-year-old daughter.

In a statement published Tuesday, police said they learned that Ashley Spicer, 35, and her daughter Israel "Kali" Burks, have been in Tennessee, Richmond, Va., and Fort Wayne, Ind., in recent months.

Spicer and her daughter, Israel "Kali" Burks, were reported missing on Oct. 2, but were last seen together on Aug. 30, 2020. According to police, Israel's father has full custody of her.

Authorities said Spicer was supposed to bring Israel back to her father after a visit. When she didn't, Spicer refused to say where Israel was.

Police have a warrant for Spicer's arrest. They said she knows about the arrest warrant but has not yet turned herself in.
