1. Man Shot In Silver Spring: Police (patch.com) — A man was seriously wounded in a Sunday night shooting on the 1100 block of Good Hope Drive in Silver Spring, drawing a major police response. Montgomery County police say the victim was taken to a hospital and no suspects are currently in custody, leaving neighbors on edge as the investigation continues.
   

2. Driver Killed, 2 Others Seriously Injured In Silver Spring Crash (patch.com) — A Silver Spring driver was killed and a man and 4-year-old child were seriously injured in a Friday morning collision between an Acura and a Ford F-150 at Good Hope Road and Good Hope Drive. Police say the Acura crossed the centerline before impact, and investigators are asking anyone who saw the crash or has information to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit.
   

3. Suspect Sought In Assault Of Girl At Silver Spring Dave & Busters (patch.com) — Police are asking Silver Spring residents to help identify a man who allegedly assaulted a 10-year-old girl at the Dave & Buster’s on Colesville Road in late September. Detectives say the man removed the child’s shoes and socks and smelled her feet before fleeing, and they’ve released surveillance images and tip lines for anyone who recognizes him or had a similar encounter.
   

4. With these grants, 55 local entrepreneurs get an early holiday gift (thebaltimorebanner.com) — Several Silver Spring companies, including Escalate, Khanjur R&D, Main Engineering, and Outcomes Excellence, just received Montgomery County grants aimed at helping early-stage firms grow. They’re among 55 local tech and life sciences businesses sharing $7.5 million from county innovation and founders funds created to boost small, often underrepresented entrepreneurs across the region.
   

5. Silver Spring Navy officer convicted of cyberstalking ex-wife (fox5dc.com) — A Silver Spring Navy officer has been convicted in federal court of a years-long cyberstalking campaign against his ex-wife, and now faces up to five years in prison at a March 12, 2026 sentencing. Prosecutors say he used false emails and bogus complaints to target her and her new partner, following an investigation involving the FBI and multiple federal agencies.
