Police Blotter: Summary of Crimes the Week of April 18 to April 26
An attempted robbery, an assault and commercial burglary were a major part of police duty.

In the Montgomery County Police major crimes weekly summary for the downtown Silver Spring area armed robbery and residential burglaries dominate the report. The crime report for the week of April 18 to April 26 is as follows:
- In downtown Silver Spring the crime activity varied in the Patch crime summaries map.
- East West Highway and 16 Street: An attempted robbery occurred in this area on Sunday, April 24 at 8:42 p.m. The suspects attempted to obtain property from the victim, but were unsuccessful.
- Fenton Street and Ellsworth Drive: An assault occurred in this area on Wednesday, April 20 at 8:00 p.m. Patrol responded for a reported of an assault, heard a gun shot and observed several subjects fleeing the area. No injuries were reported.
- Eastern Middle School, 300 University Boulevard East: A commercial burglary occurred at this location on Sunday, April 24 at 6:03 p.m. There wasn’t a forced entry and nothing taken.
