Police Blotter: Summary of Crimes the Week of Oct. 31 and Nov. 9
In this week's crime summary aggravated assaults and burglaries top the list.

This week in the Montgomery County Police major crimes summary for the area near downtown Silver Spring, residential burglaries dominate the report. Crimes reported for the week of Oct. 31 and Nov. 9 are as follows:
- 8200 16th St.: A residential burglary occurred between 7:15 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 4 and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6 in this block. There was a forced entry and property was taken.
- 500 block of Thayer Ave.: A residential burglary occurred on this block on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 12:10 a.m. There was an unknown entry and nothing was taken.
- Prudential Insurance, 8484 Georgia Ave.: A commercial burglary occurred between 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4 and 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6. There was an unforced entry and property was taken.
- City Cars, 808 Burlington Ave.: A commercial burglary occurred on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 3:00 a.m. There was an unforced entry and property was taken.
- Montgomery College Library, 930 King Street: A sexual offense occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 1:21 p.m. The suspect was observed in the library masturbating. The suspect fled.
- Forest Glen Road and Admirality Drive: A robbery/assault occurred at this intersection in Forest Glen on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 10:45 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim, obtained property, then fled.
- Silver Spring Library, 8901 Colesville Road: An aggravated assault occurred on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 4:00 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.
- 500 University Boulevard East: A robbery/assault occurred in in this block on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at midnight. The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property before fleeing.
- 500 Domer Avenue: An aggravated assault occurred in the, Silver Spring on Monday, Nov. 7 at 2:45 p.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.
- 1000 Quebec Terrace: A residential burglary occurred on Monday, 11/7 between 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. There was a forced entry, but nothing was taken.
- 9100 block of Piney Branch Road: A residential burglary occurred on Sunday, Nov. 6 between 5:10 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. There was an unforced entry and property was removed.
