Residential burglaries dominate the Montgomery County Police weekly major crimes summary for the Silver Spring area. Crimes reported for the week of Dec. 12 to Dec. 20 are as follows:
Draper Lane and East West Highway: An armed robbery occurred in the area on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 9:12 p.m. The suspects approached the victims and property taken.
1500 East West Highway: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Monday, Dec. 19 8:30 a.m. to 3:55 p.m. in this area of Silver Spring. There wasn't a forced entry, but property was taken.

8200 Nolte Avenue: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 9:20 a.m. in this area.
St. Michaels Church, 810 Wayne Avenue: A commercial burglary occurred at the church between Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 8:30 a.m. and Thursday, Dec. 15 at 1:30 p.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken.

500 East Melbourne Avenue: A strong-arm robbery occurred in this area on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 7:14 p.m. The victim was assaulted by the suspects and property was taken.
8600 block of 16th Street: A strong-arm robbery occurred in this area on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 3:14 p.m. Property was taken.
10200 Haywood Drive: A residential burglary occurred in this area between Friday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 18 at 2:30 p.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken.
1600 Belvedere Boulevard: A residential burglary occurred in this area between Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Friday Dec. 16. There was a forced entry, but no property was taken.
400 East Melbourne Avenue: A residential burglary occurred in this area between Monday, Dec. 12 at 6:15 a.m. to Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 1:45 a.m. No forced entry; property taken.
Seek Lane and Hood Street: An armed robbery of a Barwood taxi driver occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 12:43 p.m. in this area. The driver was threatened with a handgun and property was taken.
9500 McAlpine Road: A residential burglary occurred on Monday, Dec. 19 at 11:25 a.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken
9000 Piney Branch Road: A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 13 between 6 a.m. and 7:01 p.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken.
8857 Garland Avenue: A commercial burglary occurred at a vacant apartment between 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9 and 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12. There was a forced entry, but no property was taken.
1300 Caddington Avenue: A robbery occurred in this area on Monday, Dec. 19 at 8:59 p.m. The suspects approached the two victims, implied that they had a gun. Property was taken.
10000 Sidney Road: A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 6:20 p.m.
9900 Woodburn Road: A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 8:47 p.m.
10000 Reddick Drive: A residential burglary occurred Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 8:53 p.m.
10000 Brunett Avenue: A residential burglary on Monday, Dec. 19 at 11:45 a.m. There was a forced entry, but no property taken.
400 University Boulevard East: A residential burglary occurred in this area on Monday Dec. 12 between 10:15 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. There wasn't a forced entry, but property was taken.
