Police Seek 2 Cars Involved In Fatal Hit-And-Run In Silver Spring
Police are searching for two cars involved in a hit-and-run that killed a Silver Spring man who was walking in the Aspen Hill area.

SILVER SPRING, MD — Police identified the man who was killed in a hit-and-run while walking in the Aspen Hill area on Friday, June 8.
The victim is identified as Gregory Jonathan Atwood, age 40, of Tynewick Drive in Silver Spring.
The incident occurred at about 3:50 a.m. at southbound Georgia Avenue at Hewitt Avenue. Arriving officers located a man deceased in the southbound lanes of Georgia Avenue.

Detectives believe that after the initial vehicle struck the pedestrian, at least one additional vehicle also struck him.

Evidence also indicates that one of the involved vehicles is possibly a 2011 Chrysler 200 or 2011 Dodge Avenger and that one of the involved vehicles is silver, police said.
Based on new information, investigators believe that a light-colored Dodge Durango was also involved in this collision.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision, were in the area around the time of the collision and saw something suspicious, or have any information about this collision to please call the 4th District Police Station at 240-773-5500. Callers may remain anonymous.
